Mental illness had a different definition in different times. In the early age, people thought mental diseases were the influence of ghosts, unholy soul or bad and polluted blood. According to the hospital and statistical manual of mental disorders, which was published by the American psychiatric society, mental illness is the summation of a person’s emotional, physical and behavioral problems and abnormalities, which pains the patient and affects his social and daily deeds. In other words, you can say that if a person’s work, the way of thinking or feelings are not in the way they are supposed to be, that can be called mental illness. As in, in mental illness, we can acknowledge chaos in a person’s outlook, works, feelings, and realizations. Besides, neurological symptoms, along with physical pain, can be mental illness too. One or more than one signs will be visible due to different diseases. You can treat the mental illness if you take advice from a psychologist as soon as possible. Just like all other physical illness, mental illness has a particular and scientific remedy.

There are many types of mental diseases. Primary diseases among adults areschizophrenia, bipolar mood disorder, depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, different kinds of phobia, social phobia, panic disorder, dissociative disorder, conversion disorder, hypochondriasis, personality disorder, insomnia (problem with sleeping), drug addiction, psychosexual disorder etc.
